Pain in Finding Happiness: The Saga Continues

Chapter 2

Stormy Rayne
In the last chapter we met Christy, a girl whose fears were attempting to take over her entire life. We read the beginning of her search for true love and happiness, where she seemingly overcame her fear of being alone and left her abusive husband. The change this choice ensued brought on a new fear, the fear of being loved. This is the next chapter of Christy's troubled life.

Christy chased her lost teenage years while her children suffered through the reality of not having a solid parental unit. She wasn't a bad mother by any means and her ultimate goal was to find security for the children she would give the world to. In her mind she was doing what she had to do in order to find them a fatherly figure who would teach them all the things she couldn't.

Realizing her kids needed her to be present and accounted for made her rethink who she wanted to be. Christy had to find a balance in life, and fast. The truth that Christy was hiding from was that she desperately wanted a storybook romance; the house on the hill, the perfect husband, white picket fence, and family outings.

On her quest to find her true self Christy decided there wouldn't be much room for self medicating through alcohol. She had no idea how to be social and mingle with potential partners without drinking and thought being sober meant a lifetime of loneliness. One of her friends who had been in recovery for many years set out to show Christy she could go out and have a great time, be social without being drunk. It wasn't long before a Saturday on the town meant sharing a diet coke at the bar with her crazy yet sober friend, Gia.

The two had become known as the queens of the bar and despite their sobriety often had more fun than any drunk in the place. Night after night they drank their fair share of caffeine and set out to shock the town with their unusual bursts of craziness.

During one of these sober outings the inevitable happened, Christy's life was about to change. She was standing outside the bar with Gia when the most attractive man she had seen in her town approached her.

Looking deep into her lonesome eyes he asked her what a beautiful woman like her was doing in a town like this. His pick up line made Christy weak in the knees. For once she felt as though she in fact deserved positive attention, she had to know this amazing guy!

When he offered her a drink she gladly accepted, what's the worst that could happen? As they sat at the bar and talked, Christy could see something in his deep hazel eyes that she had every intention of exploring. The radiant energy she felt was new to her, was this her chance at happiness?

I agree with M.M., I think every woman wants the storybook romance, I wonder how many really find it anymore...I know I did. Cheers.
