Materials Needed:
Cotton balls
Paper plate
Purple paint
Brown or black marker or colored pencil
Green tissue paper
Glue
Paper
Instructions:
To begin, have the children draw some connected wavy lines on the paper using the brown or black marker or colored pencil. These lines will be the grape vines.
Place some purple paint onto the paper plate palette. If you don't have purple paint, you can mix red and blue together to get purple. To add variety, you can mix variations of purple to add reality and depth to their creation.
Let the children dip their cotton ball into the paint and dab it onto the paper in a straight up and down motion to create circles. Do so around the drawn grape vine lines to create a bunch of grapes.
Once they are happy with the grape vine creation, take pieces of green tissue paper, crumple it and use glue to adhere it to the top of the grape bunch. This addition of green represents the leaves on the grape plant.
Sunday School Application:
This craft creation can be used in Sunday school to help promote the ideas presented in Numbers 13-14. Where God's word about Canaan proves true, but Israel fails to trust God.
This lesson while used in many Sunday School Curriculum's is one lesson from "He Established a Testimony", Old Testament Bible Stories for Young Children as part of the Desiring God Ministries series.
