Painting in the Sand

Stable Images on an Unstable Palette

David A. Reinstein, LCSW

A message from an
Indigenous
North American
Ozymandias
Encrypted and channeled
Through modern sons and daughters;
Ancient memories
And archetypal images
Painted with rainbow dust
On a ever-shifting fluid canvas
Defying the attempted
Edits and revisions
Of the cold north wind
Of the gentle westerly showers
Of careless steps
Taken thoughtlessly
From one horizon behind
To the other side
Of fate and experience
That awaits the visitors
Still in transit
Between the world of awakening
And that of shiftingly silent sleep.
