Pair of Jeans

(Levi's Rock)

Monique Finley

Nothing snug around my waist,
choking my legs with spandex.
Give me a comfy pair of jeans,
something denim, worn and true.
Holy blue, flared legs, straight legged,
boot cut, hell give me some bell bottoms.
Button fly 501's.
Pavement colored carpenter's jeans.
Broken in, tear in the knees.
Heel hems ragged, dragged on the concrete.
Loved to death and worn some more.
I don't want to buy prefabricated holes,
no, I want to make my own
after years of abusing a good pair of Levi's.

Hey All, thank you very much for your comments! I know a poem about jeans is silly...I know you are but what am I? Keep on rocking ya'll!

Nice poem, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's the truth, a comfy pair of jeans is like a child's favorite stuffed animal.

I am a bluejeans type myself. The looser and baggier, the better (I am very active, and I don't like being strangled by tight clothes!) great job, darlin'!

Oh yeah? Say it three times fast.
