Pajama Jeans Review: Are They Worth the Money?

Go to Work, the Store, or Even the Club in Your Pajamas with Pajama Jeans!

Ah, jeans. So versatile, so stylish and (sometimes) oh-so uncomfortable. As a woman, I know how we all have "fat" days or lazy days and just want to sit around in our pajamas all day. But if you have errands to run, school or work to attend, or any other out of the house activities, it isn't exactly socially acceptable to walk around in your Mickey Mouse pajama pants all day.

Enter Pajama Jeans. The jeans that look - and feel - like pajamas. The commercial is everywhere these days, showing stylish ladies meandering about town in their comfy, stylish pajamas that look like jeans. Fortunately, I was able to check out a pair of Pajama Jeans in person to get the inside scoop on these things.

Sizing: The size chart is pretty scary. I mean, when I buy jeans, I buy a numbered size, not a small, medium, large, and so on. They have eight different sizes available, with each size spanning several traditional number sizes. If you order the wrong size, you might be okay, since the material is stretchy.

Fabric: The Pajama Jeans are made of "DormaSoft" fabric, which basically means it's a blend of cotton and spandex. The inside of the jeans feel like a very soft jersey knit material.

Style: The commercial brags about Pajama Jeans' brass rivets, contrast stitching, and pocket details. This remains true in person, but beware-the "contrast stitching" really sticks out...almost too much for my liking. The pockets do look realistic and the rivets give it that extra realistic touch that most "jeggings" do not offer. Oh-and there's no zipper. You just pull them on.

Price: One pair of Pajama Jeans will set you back $39.95 plus $8.95 shipping and handling. Good deal? Uhh...no. Nearly $50 for a pair of pj pants? Because, see, that's essentially what you're getting.

Free gift: When you order a pair of Pajama Jeans, you'll receive a free gift in the form of a gray t-shirt. Umm...it's...okay. I mean, it's a gray t-shirt. It runs kind of small and it's not very flattering. You can't choose the size you want; you're shipped the same size as the pajama jeans you ordered. I had the XS in the jeans, so I got the XS t-shirt. I normally wear an XS in shirts and this thing was tiny! It looked like a little girls' t-shirt.

Shipping Time: Don't be in any hurry! Expect to wait at least a month before the Pajama Jeans arrive at your doorstep.

Bottom line? They're..okay. Yes, they do look like traditional jeans and you'll be able to fool the masses with these things. But is the nearly $50 price tag worth it to be able to go to work in your pajamas? "Ha ha, Mr. Bossman and your ridiculous dress code! I'm wearing PAJAMAS to work!" Is it THAT hard to put on a pair of regular pants in the morning? That's up to you and your pocketbook!

Cute and informative review. While I don't think I'd go out in them, pajama jeans do sound like the perfect thing to wear to compose AC articles in front of the computer for a few hours when I want to wear something a little more presentable than sweats. So, I'll probably make a purchase.
