Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza

A Gourmet Frozen Pizza

Amy Brantley
I'll admit that I prefer homemade pizza over frozen varieties. But, there are times I don't have time to make this Italian classic from scratch. When that happens, there are only a couple brands I trust. One of those brands is Palermo's. I especially love Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza. Any time it's on sale, I have to stock up. But, what makes this brand so good? What makes Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza irresistible?

Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza Review: Taste

The flavor of Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza is always top notch. The toppings don't seem heavily preserved or low quality. Instead, the flavors are bold and taste like fresh rather than frozen. But, my favorite part is the crust. The crust is crispy, which allows the flavor of the toppings to stand out even more. I've tried three different flavors and every flavor has been unbelievable.

Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza Review: Flavors

Speaking of flavors, Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza comes in several different varieties. Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza comes in Margherita, Alfredo Primavera, Old World 6 Cheese, Special Edition Pepperoni, Greek, Supreme, White Cheddar Cheese & Tomato, BBQ Recipe Chicken, Italian Sausage, Grilled Chicken Caesar, Ham & Fire-Roasted Pineapple, and Roasted Vegetable & Goat Cheese. As you can see, these aren't your average frozen pizza flavors.

Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza Review: Nutrition Facts

Since Special Edition Pepperoni seems to be the most popular, we'll look at the nutrition facts of that flavor. A serving of Palermo's Primo Thin Special Edition Pepperoni Pizza is 1/3 of the product. This serving has 380 calories, 210 fat calories, 23 grams of fat, 11 grams of saturated fat, 60mg of cholesterol, 1000mg of sodium, 24 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of fiber, 3 grams of sugar, 18 grams of protein, 10% of your daily Vitamin A, 4% of your daily Vitamin C, 25% of your daily calcium, and 6% or you daily iron.

Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza Review: Price

Palermo's Primo Thin Pizzas cost around $6. This may sound a bit high, but I would rank this brand above many chains restaurants in America. Also, this product is often on sale for $3 or less.

Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza Review: Satisfaction Rating

I would have to give Palermo's Primo Thin Pizza 5 stars. This is quite possibly my favorite brand. If you've given up on frozen pizza, give Palermo's a chance. It's the gourmet brand you've always looked for.

I couldn't stand the cracker crust stile of any thin crust until I tried Palermo's ultra thin Margherita pizza. Now, if I don't taste one within two weeks I get kinda twitchy...they're delicious but they are nearly impossible to find in California. Costco is supposed to carry them but I haven't seen them there in the last two months or so. I need a Palermo's fix.

I've had this brand! You're right it is absolutely the best frozen pizza ever and is better than some take out places I've tried. They have two new ones, one is a rising crust and the other is a hearth baked one, I haven't tried them but they look great!

If this may be your favorite brand, as you note, that is good enough for me :)
I appreciate the nutritional info and other details, too.
