Palm and Pantech: A Cell Phone Review

Evan Nash
What are you hoping to get out of your cell phone or out of your cell phone provider in general? Are you looking specifically for a phone that will help you organize your busy lifestyle or are you looking for a phone that will be reliable in receiving calls? Do you want a phone that will be able to impress associates or friends with high-tech gizmos or just a phone that has a good battery life so you can talk for a good amount of time?

If you don't know the answer to any of these questions then you are in a little bit of the proverbial pickle when it comes to your next cell phone purchase. Here is what you need to do, make a list of what is important to you in your next cell phone and then look at what it is that is available to you for what price. Just because I'm nice, here is a little help to get you started on your quest with summaries of what is available from Palm and Pantech cell phones.

Palm made a grand entrance into the handheld organizing world with the first Palm Pilot in 1996 taking the Usability Achievement Award from PC Computing. Instantly the Palm Pilot took a major seat at the head of the table in the world of handheld electronics, eventually becoming a beast in the cellular world at large with PDA phones and smart phones.

Now, Palm has a selection of products available to consumers with the Treo Smartphone's that give you a certain amount of organizational tools with the cell phone capability and mobile managers that just help you stay organized. If you want a device that will have all of the planning tools that you need in addition to a cell phone then Palm is certainly a viable candidate for your dollar.

Pantech was founded in 1991 with special emphasis on making pagers and 2 way radios as the world still struggled to find a way to communicate while on the go. Pantech is now a major name in almost all of the digital products available today, not just cell phones. While Pantech is trying to make a name for itself in this cellular game, it doesn't appear as if they are going to become a major player anytime soon.

With the Helio, Pantech has a product that uses GPS to help users navigate through their lives with the help of Google Maps, one of the best interactive maps out there today. Also, the Helio plays video, has a buddy beacon to help you find friends no matter where either of you are at the time, MySpace Mobile to let you have interaction no matter where you are, and a web browser to get where you are going.
