Some palms are smooth and some are rough,
They're at the ends of things called arms,
And hang just below the cuff.
Our palms have many uses,
They brush things off and slap,
If you put two palms together,
You can pray, or even clap.
Some palms are wrinkled, some are greased,
And some have life lines, deep and long,
You can rub your palms together,
Or tap your knee with them in song.
One might drum their palms on bongos,
Or massage away some stress,
You can fill them up with popcorn,
Or smoothe out a clingy dress.
They might get you into trouble,
While resting on a lady's shelf,
So do yourself a favor,
And keep them to yourself.
We let the psychic read them,
Sometimes they help us with that test,
We hold them down for manicures,
And hold them up upon arrest.
Shaking hands or palming coins,
Directing traffic in or out,
So, when we use them for reminders,
What's all the fuss about?
