Heart Line Location
The heart line is the horizontal(ish) line on your palm closest to the fingers, above the life line. It may be bisected by the fate line, and often has smaller lines running from its top and bottom.
Look first to see how high the heart line is on your palm. High heart lines indicate a colder nature, particularly if the line is short and straight. Low-set lines belong to people who are in close contact with their emotions, and belong to people who are capable of deep and lasting relationships. Often, these low-set people are easily hurt; they tend to feel deeply about many people who enter their lives, and are vulnerable because of this. Low-set lines are also found in those who are passionate about not just love but other parts of their lives.
While many high heart lines indicate cold people, they also indicate idealists, people who are more devoted to causes than to people. When the line ends before it reaches the percussive edge of the palm, look for the querent to be a Mother Teresa type rather than the motherly type.
If the head line and heart line are both set low, the querent is a jealous and possessive person. In some people, the heart line has a number of secondary lines extending above and/or below it. Some may run more or less parallel to the heart line after crossing it, while others are perpendicular to it. These are called influence lines, and on this line generally indicate people the querent feels deeply about. Lines that run parallel to the heart line indicate very close relationships, generally soul-mate relationships; an absence of these does NOT indicate an absence of a soul mate. Lines perpendicular to the heart line indicate love affairs or strong affairs of the heart. What the reader can generally get from these is that a person with many perpendicular lines probably jumps from relationship to relationship, while relatively few or none means the person is reluctant to give his or her heart away. I look for one other thing on these lines. If the influence line is crossed by one or more other small lines to create an x, t, or star, this was a relationship with problems, with truly tempestuous relationships being heavily etched in the palm.
Heart Line Structure
There is no real beginning or end to the heart line, but where the two ends show up on the palm is significant. If it wraps around the percussive edge of the palm, or if the strongest end of the heart line is on this side, your querent probably has an ego, and prides himself on his honesty and honor. If it's stronger on the other end between the thumb and fingers, your querent is more likely to be a sweet and caring person who puts others first.
Deeply etched lines indicate a person who feels more deeply than others, regardless of the position or length of the line otherwise. Unfortunately, it often also indicates a person who lets stress get to them. When found in combination with chaining or islands in the line, your querent may have diagnosed or unknown heart disease; he or she would be wise to check that, and to develop life habits that help deter the development of cardiac illnesses. Be careful, in these cases, to not overstate the danger of these problems, but instead to let the querent know they may exist.
