Pamela Anderson Wardrobe Malfunction Saves Fashion Show

It seems that Pamela Anderson saved a fashion show recently by having a wardrobe malfunction. There are possibly the more cynical out there saying to themselves, "Wardrobe malfunction, my plumber's butt." Still, it could be true. It might have been an accident and not a strategic slip. But in Pam Anderson's defense (if it was intentional), if others had spent as much on keeping their breasts in that condition, they would probably want to show them off as much as possible as well.

But it literally saved Vivienne Westwood's "fashion" show...

Pamela Anderson, the blonde bombshell who bounced her way to fame on "Baywatch," has been doing a little modeling lately. The 41-year-old star walked the runway for the Richie Rich fashion show in February and, most recently, she did the same for the Vivienne Westwood fashion show that presented the 2009/2010 autumn/winter collection at Paris Week.

Wearing a godawful form-fitting black dress (or is a blouse and skirt?) that pulled together at the waist with an ugly belt effect (think nice evening gown with a bathrobe belt), festooned with what looked like silver and red kerchiefs sprouting from her hips and shoulders, Pamela Anderson was walking the runway with designer Vivienne Westwood when the wardrobe malfunction occurred. Perhaps her left breast was simply rebelling against the atrocious clothes that had covered it earlier in the day.

Anderson had previously walked the runway in a hideous red throw or rug or couch cover or something. It may have been a dress. Who could tell with those gauzy wing-things sticking out from her hips, strategically raising the red smock or tunic or poncho or whatever just high enough to see Pam Anderson's white underwear. The entire ensemble was definitely for shock effect because the horrid chartreuse and flat black knee socks that fed into a pair of crimson-strapped sandals totally distracted from the fact that Pamela Anderson is still a pretty good looking woman. And were those five red puffballs on the ends of each of those sandals or are those really her toes?

And if you thought that get-up was bad (what a truly ineffective word in this case), the other ensemble was a close second. Looking every bit as if she had two sets of clothes to wear but only one more walk down the runway, Pamela Anderson sported a t-shirt with a wide-striped loose blazer on top. She wore pastel-striped shorts with a monochrome plaid micro-mini skirt pulled across her hips. And if that wasn't a fashion disaster walking, Anderson forgot to change shoes and stockings -- or those monstrous things had adhered them to her calves and feet.

All three outfits looked as if a 3-year-old had gone buck wild at a thrift store and starting trying on clothes.

So when the wardrobe malfunction came, there is little doubt that it came just in time to save the show from being a complete flop. We may have seen Pamela Anderson's breasts before (actually, we have seen all of Pam Anderson naked before), but never has she exposed herself at a more opportune time.

Vivienne Westwood has been credited with bringing rock-punk styles into the fashion mainstream. The bad news is that her styles scream retro and remind us of how bad that look actually was. You just can't pretty it up. Not with Pamela Anderson. Not with Pamela Anderson's naked left breast (although Anderson must be given kudos for trying to help a friend). The good news for Westwood? The Sex Pistols have reunited, so they're probably looking for a designer...
