My husband and I have come to realize that actions can mean a lot more than words. Saying "I love you" is nice, but proving it can mean a lot more. There are a lot of ways that you can pamper your partner and show them just how much you love them. I'll share a few with you here.
A luxurious bath. A bath with all the bells and whistles can be a wonderful way to show your partner how much you care. Run the bath, add some scented salts, light some candles and incense and add some music. Either allow them to bathe in peace, or offer to wash their hair or their back to add some extra pampering to the experience. This isn't just for women either. After a hard week a nice bath can make a man feel really good too.
A nice dinner. Food has a wonderful way of making people feel better. Nothing says love quite like a home-cooked meal. Cook something special for your partner, preferably something they really enjoy. Home cooked is always best, because you're putting time and love into the meal, but if you can't cook, ordering in or dining out can also be nice.
Pick up the chores. If your partner is the one who usually does the chores, taking over the household tasks for the day can be a great way to pamper them. Let them sit and relax with a good movie or a hobby, and do all the housework for them. It's a great way to show that you appreciate all they normally have to do.
A mini vacation. Sometimes a mini vacation from normal daily life can be a great way to show your partner you love them. It doesn't have to be an actual vacation, you can simulate it right at home. Put up some cheap decorations to simulate a location, have a picnic, play games and do other things that you would do on vacation. Let your partner relax and have fun, and cater to their needs for the day.
A Massage. A massage is a fantastic way to pamper your partner. Set the mood with candles and relaxing music, and be sure to have some pleasantly-scented massage oil or lotion. Lay your partner down and give them a slow full-body rub. Work out all their tension and make them feel relaxed and wonderful.
There are plenty of other ways to pamper your partner and show them how much you love them, but these are a few ideas to get you started. It's important to show your love, not just say it. For a lot of people the words "I love you" become habit, and don't really mean as much as they once did. Try saying it less, and showing it more. Even small things can remind your partner how much you care, and strengthen your relationship.
