Pampering Yourself on Mother's Day

Jaleh
Mother's day is a special day for women who work hard all the time trying to please their children and husband. I am a mother of two children and I have been running ragged at times just making sure the family is happy and the home looks perfect. Sometimes I even forget about my own needs. For example, one day I was so involved with the children that I forgot two hours earlier I had to go to the bathroom. I am making sure this Mother's Day is a special day for me. I have come up with some great ideas that are going to make Mother's day special for me and I think it would for you too.

Let your husband know that he needs to take over the children's wants and needs. I don't expect my children to do anything for me on this day except not to ask me for anything. Dad is going to be taking over the whole day unless you both decide on getting a babysitter.

Have your husband cook you breakfast in bed. Start the day out right. Why rush to get up on this day. Take your time, take a few deep breaths and enjoy what hopefully is a delicious breakfast made by your hubby.

After breakfast take a nice warm bath to help relax and refresh you for the fun filled day. Buy one of those nice herbal baths that has a nice scent. Light a few candles, turn on some jazz music and have a glass of chilled apple juice. As you are relaxing in the bathtub think of somewhere nice you would like to be. For example, I love visualizing relaxing on the beach. The feel of the warm sun, sounds of the crashing waves and the smell of the cool salty air.

When you're done with the bath dress in some comfortable clothes and go somewhere fun with or without your husband. For example, I enjoy being with my husband so I plan on getting a sitter for my children. I would like to go rafting down the American River. The river is a relaxing place to be for me. For you it could be a stroll in the neighborhood, shopping at the mall, going to a movie or visiting with good friends.

After you have done something fun eat lunch somewhere you really like. The location can be at a restaurant, on a cruise ship, at the park or at home. It just has to be a place that you feel good about. For me it will be a romantic picnic at the park. Eating some of the best snacks such as caviar and crackers.

This is a day of total relaxation. To continue the relaxation you can either have your husband give you a full body massage or have him treat you to a massage at a spa. You deserve to be treated and let your husband know you want to be treated.

When the massage is done treat yourself to a light snack. You can go home but remind your children this is your special day and you might want to be alone on this day. At home end the evening with a romantic or funny movie. Once the movie is done you can have an early night and go to bed.

I am looking forward to Mother's Day this year and I hope you are too. Everyone needs to be pampered every so often especially mothers.
