Pampers Diapers Vs. Huggies Diapers

For new parents, deciding on what your going to cover your child's bottom with doesn't seem like such a hard choice. You can go with the cheapest, the best, or just grab whatever your hand hits first as your standing in the aisle in your sleep-deprived state. I certainly didn't think it would matter a great deal. After a dozen diaper changes though, I found out that there was a certain kind of science to this diaper-changing enigma and there were certain products that would make it easier on both baby and myself. The main item being of course, the diaper.

I started out with Huggies diapers as they were the first ones that I noticed had a special product designed especially for newborns. They call these their "Gentle Care Diapers." These diapers have a U-shaped umbilical cord opening to help protect that extra sensitive umbilical cord when your baby is only days old. These diapers also have CuddleWeave inside which is cottony soft and provides extra comfort and security for the baby. These diapers are available in four different sizes.

The next step up that Huggies offers are called "Natural Fit Diapers." They are for the older baby (16-35+ lbs) and offer a unique "Hugflex" which is a shape that fits and feels natural. These diapers are also available in four different sizes.

Comparable to their "Natural Fit Diapers", Huggies created "Snug & Dry Diapers" which have a LeakLock system to quickly trap moisture and prevent leaks. They also have an all-around stretch that offers a snug fit. These diapers are available in six different sizes with the weight ranging from newborn to 35+ lbs.

The last line of Huggies diapers are their "Overnites Diapers" which as the name suggests, has extra absorbency to end night-time leaks. These are available in three different sizes ranging from 16 to 40 lbs.

The next contender is Pampers. Pampers also has four different types of diapers, depending on the stage that the baby is in. The first, like Huggies, is Pampers Swaddlers for newborns. These diapers offer an AbsorbAway Liner to help keep moisture away from baby's delicate skin. There is also a quilted backsheet and soft overlapping fasteners to ensure a secure fit. These are available in four sizes ranging from newborn to 22 lbs.

Pampers next step up is their "Baby-Dry Diapers." These have a Caterpillar-Flex which moves with your child, especially at night when stomachs can expand and contract. These help keep the baby dry and comfortable. These are available in six sizes ranging from 8 to 35+ lbs.

Pampers then offers "Cruisers" which are specially designed for when babies are doing just that - cruising. They move easily with the baby and have that same AbsorbAway Liner to help protect baby's skin. These diapers also come with a specially formulated gel inside to further keep moisture away from babies skin. These are available in five sizes ranging from 16 to 41+lbs.

The last in the Pampers diaper line are "Easy Ups." These are for the older baby who may no longer wish to lie down for diaper changes. They simply slip on while baby stands making for an easy and tear-free change! These are available in three sizes ranging from 22 to 35+lbs.

So with all these choices how is it possible to pick just one? Well it may not be. I preferred Huggies for my newborn only because it does have that U-shaped umbilical opening and as a new parent, I panicked about everything, especially that tender little piece of skin.

Once that is no longer an issue, I do prefer Pampers. I find that they have more stretch than Huggies. I also really like the "Cruisers" because of the added protection of the gel. Pampers are also a much stronger diaper than Huggies which is important when your little one grabs hold of the diaper and tries to tear it or chew it. Another added bonus of Pampers is that the company offers a "Gifts to Grow" program. Just like any other reward program, you get a certain number of points for every product you purchase and those points can go towards something in their catalogue.

So with all of these bonuses and added features, I really do need to tip my hat to Pampers. This is a brand that not only offers what is most needed for a very sensitive issue but goes beyond and actually gives you something back for all the countless diapers you have had to change!

    Pampers VS Huggies Diapers

I used both and I Huggies is much more better. My baby sleeps with Huggies the whole night and wakes up dry but with Pampers I have to change him every 3 hours because it leaks and he gets up wet.
