The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, which holds two annual events in Michigan, will be holding their Purple Stride Detroit 2010 Fun Walk on September 12th at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak.

So far they have raised $126,500 this year and are looking to raise another $100,000 or more for important research into one of the deadliest forms of cancer that tends to occur more often in the Jewish, Italian and Greek people. Pancreatic cancer research is severely under-funded and with such a great community like Royal Oak I know we can all come out and pitch in to make a difference in this deadly fight against cancer.

The event is free if you pre-register or $20 the day of, and volunteers that come out to walk and support this great organization are encourage to raise $100 from friends and family, each $100 raised by a volunteer will get them a free purple PanCan Fun Walk shirt. You can also form teams of walkers and be more ambitious in your fundraising, the sky is the limit.

I can't wait to attend this event; the other event held at the Tam O'Shanter Country Club in June is also an amazing event, with world class cuisine, golfing and a fun silent auction.
