The summer breeze
Gently nips at my face
My knees weigh softly
Against the fresh earth
I stare at the phallic cement
Your materialistic monument
Given by your family
In remembrance of you
I was surprised
That they actually remembered your name
When I was the only one who truly cared
I still do
That will never change
In this world
That has become so hollow
My memories
Are all that I have left
So they must suffice
Gently nips at my face
My knees weigh softly
Against the fresh earth
I stare at the phallic cement
Your materialistic monument
Given by your family
In remembrance of you
I was surprised
That they actually remembered your name
When I was the only one who truly cared
I still do
That will never change
In this world
That has become so hollow
My memories
Are all that I have left
So they must suffice
