Pantene Color Nourishing Treatment Review

Monica Bullock
I recently had the chance to try a new leave-in conditioner from Pantene. I love my color-treated hair, but keeping the "fly-aways" under control was challenging. I was hoping Pantene's Color Nourishing Treatment would be the right product to protect and tame my blond hair. My Pantene Color Nourishing Treatment review will give you the skinny on what I discovered.

Pantene History

My relationship with Pantene is fairly new, since for years I was frightened away from their products by my hairdresser. After chatting with other hair-loving friends, I discovered that Pantene was many of my friends' favorite hair products. I sheepishly avoided my hair stylist for a few weeks to give Pantene a shot. The fact that Pantene was launching a product line just for colored hair nudged me in their direction, too. I may have tried Pantene once years ago, but have never been a faithful follower of theirs.

The Product

Pantene Color Nourishing Treatment comes in a 1.9 fluid ounce tube. The lid snaps up with a flick of your finger, making access to the product easy. The packaging was nothing spectacular, but as long as the conditioner worked, I did not care. White and creamy, the hair lotion did not feel greasy to touch.

Application

I washed, conditioned and dried my hair as I normally do. I typically wear my hair straight; the flat iron is my favorite appliance. I squirted a pea-sized amount from the tube and rubbed it into my hands. Having prior experience with other leave-in conditioners, I knew I should avoid applying this product to my scalp. I smoothed the nourishing treatment into the bottom of my hair and worked it in lightly with my hands. I did not put the conditioner in my scalp or above my ears. I combed the ends of my hair to be sure the treatment was evenly distributed.

The Results

I like the scent of this product. It smells clean and reminds of how nice my hair smells when I leave the beauty shop. My hair seems to look straighter, and I do not see the "fly-aways" anymore. My husband likes the way the product makes my hair feel. He describes it as "silky" and "sexy." The following day I needed to wash my hair because it felt a little oily, but my hair tends to do that anyway. I like this product and would recommend it to anyone who wants to tame their color-treated hair.
