Description
The entire series has been placed in newer, sleeker-looking bottles, which are very eye-catching. Before purchasing the detangler, I sprayed a bit in the palm of my hand to smell the scent of the product. Since this is for my daughter, I try not to get anything that's too strong, because if she feels like it's too strong then it will be the last time we use it. I found the scent to be flowery, but not over-powering, and very light on my hand. It didn't have a greasy feel, but I knew I wouldn't be able to tell until I tried it on my daughter's hair.
How It Was Used
After washing my daughter's hair, I raised it in layers and spritzed it with detangler. After that, I separated her hair into sections and began to use a fine-tooth comb on the ends. I found that I needed a little extra spray.
Although it is meant for curly hair, I also tried the Pantene Curly Hair Series Detangler on my straight hair. I used the product the same way by separating layers into my hair and started the combing process from the bottom. Due to the texture and thickness, I used a bit more than normal, but not quite as much as was needed for my daughter's hair. With the amount I used for both of our hair, it did not leave it looking oily or make it feel heavy.
Product Effectiveness
On the whole, I felt the detangler was not as good as I was hoping. The spray is as advertised and is light and non-greasy, which is a good feature, but we had to use a lot of spray to get each tangle out. I do understand my daughter is five and may have more tangles in her hair from daily actiivities. The product is not exactly what I expected it to be for my daughter's hair, but it was a good detangler for my own hair.
Cost
The cost of the detangler was $3.97 plus tax, which is affordable for the 8.5oz bottle, but I wouldn't purchase this product again for my daughter's curly hair. Although it worked well on my hair, I didn't find it effective enough for curly hair.

Post a CommentI have a lot of long dry fine hair that tangles like crazy. The Shielo Antioxidant Leave In Protectant is the best I've found yet. I find that most detanglers fall into one of two categories: effective but goopy, or ineffective and non-goopy. The Shielo Leave In is unlike these in that it is light, but ACTUALLY detangles. Still, I have to use a lot of it, especially near my scalp when I want to comb my hair in a different direction.
It is scented, but lightly so. Considering how much of the product I use, I am glad the scent isn't too strong.
Good review, thanks.
It's so hard to find a good detangler that isn't greasy. I've been using Moroccan oil which is pretty good but pricey.
