In order to get the best results using this root lifter, you must have wet or damp hair. First, it is a good idea to wash and condition using Pantene's Flat to Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. Unlike other shampoos and conditioners, these truly seem to add more body and do not weigh the hair down like other products that claim to provide the same results. After washing and rinsing my hair with the shampoo and then conditioning and rinsing, I towel dried my hair a bit until it was only slightly wet.
Next, I applied several sprays of the gel throughout my hair, starting at the roots and gently working it throughout my hair using my fingertips. I expected it to have an "oily" feel, but, as I worked it throughout my hair, I was happy to note that it did not. Once I was done working the root lifter through my hair, I was able to blow dry it as usual. I prefer a lower heat setting, even though it takes a bit longer to get my hair dry this way.
Once my hair was dry, I would have been able to style it however I wanted, but honestly, I just left it around my shoulders, since I was very happy with the end result. My hair had a nice, flowing look, as well as an overall healthier look. I was also surprised at how soft and manageable my hair was and how the root lifter gel did not leave any oily or greasy residue behind.
Pantene's Fine Hair Solutions Root Lifter Spray Gel is great for people such as myself, who have flat hair with little to no volume. My hair is longer than most people's, so I imagine the results would be even more noticeable for people who have short- to medium-length hair or layered hair. The spray gel can be used on a daily basis, as long as one is open to washing or at least dampening her hair on a daily basis to get the best results.
