As a black woman without a relaxer, I find it very difficult to find products that actually get the results that I desire. After going to the Pantene Pro-V website, I realized that they had a quiz to determine your hair type and which Pantene products I should use. After my quiz, I qualified for the Relaxed and Natural Dry to Moisturized Shampoo and Conditioner along with the Curly Hair Series Curl Defining Mousse. I requested a sample and anxiously waited for the product.
While using the product, I found the aroma to be enjoyable. It also made my hair way softer while using the shampoo. I have very thick hair, so it usually takes some time to get some good suds going. With this shampoo, my hair was soft enough to foam easily. After conditioning, my hair had a noticeable shine. I no longer had the dull and dry look that usually occurs when I wash my hair. The Relaxed and Natural Dry to Moisturized Shampoo and Conditioner had passed the test; next was the Curl Defining Mousse.
After my excitement with the success of the shampoo and conditioner, I could hardly wait to try the Curly Hair Series Curl Defining Mousse. I have always wanted to wear my hair in its naturally curly form. However, I always have difficulty, because throughout the day, the humidity makes my hair grow into an afro, and my hair is usually so tangled the next day, I can barely comb through it.
I applied the mousse to my curly wet hair and proceeded to use a shampoo brush to detangle the curls. I parted my hair into sections and braided each one. After this, I sat under the hair dryer for a half hour to let the mousse dry. I unbraided my hair and fingered through my curls. The mouse made my hair hard and stiff, but it did keep my hair from frizzing at the end of the day. The mouse also gave my hair a great aroma, so that was also a bonus.
Overall, the shampoo and conditioner were great. They smelled great and made my hair shinier. I would give these products an "A." As for the mousse, I would give it a "B," since it did solve my problem of frizzing, but it did not make my natural curls soft as they should have been.
