Pantene Pro-V Flat to Volume Root Lifter Review

Pantene Pro-V is taking their response to hair care needs to a different level. With their new product line, Fine Hair Solutions, Pantene Pro-V is offering customized hair products for all types of women, including those with curly, thick, colored or fine hair. Since I have naturally fine hair, I have spent years trying to get volume in various styles. I've used Pantene in the past, so knowing they were now catering to my (usually) aggravating lack of volume in my hair was exciting.

One product that is part of the Fine Hair Solutions line is the Root Lifter Spray Gel. Despite the gel in the product title, it actually comes out like a spray and feels lightweight on the hair. The spray claims to give your hair volume at the roots while adding shine.

To try it out, I followed the provided directions. Wash the hair using the Flat to Volume Shampoo and Conditioner, and then, while the hair is still damp, spritz the roots with the Root Lifter Spray Gel. Massage the spray into the roots and work through the hair, and then dry as usual.

Once I dried my hair, I noticed there was more volume in my hair without the stiff feeling I sometimes get with other products. To increase volume, I dried my hair by flipping it and drying it underneath, concentrating at the roots first. Once my hair was dry, I thought it looked thicker, and there was no sign of any product in my hair. Since I have fine hair, mousse or other thickening product usually makes my hair stiff or unmanageable.

Overall, I like the Pantene Pro-V Root Lifter more than other products I've tried simply because it gets the job done without the heavy feeling of creams, gels or mousse when they dry. The scent is also a plus because it smells clean and slightly floral without being too overpowering.
