Pantene Pro-V Product Review: Fine Hair Solutions

Pantene Pro-V has recently revamped their haircare and styling line, or at least it looks that way. I've used their products before with some mix results, so when I was one of the contributors they targeted to try out their products, I jumped on it.

I've always had problems with my super straight, flat hair. I don't know if my hair is actually considered fine, because I've heard two different things. The first is that blondes have fine hair and brunettes have thick hair. I'm a brunette, but when I go to a salon to get my hair cut or styled, I've always been told that I have fine hair. All I know for sure is that my hair has always been flat. I couldn't keep it curled to save my life. I've used Pantene Pro-V shampoo and conditioner for volume before, and it really didn't do much for my hair. So I was skeptical about their revamped version, "Fine Hair Solutions."

I was surprised at how quickly this Pantene product worked. I wasn't expecting to see results after my first use. The results I got with Pantene Pro-V's Fine Hair Solutions shampoo and conditioner were significantly better than with Pantene Pro-V's past products like Full and Thick. With the latter, my hair felt and looked dry, and that's before blow drying it. After blow drying it, my hair got a little frizzy around the crown, and as soon as I got outside under the heat, it got really frizzy.

Pantene's Fine Hair Solutions shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling clean, silky soft, hydrated and healthy. I did notice a little volume, but not as much as I was hoping for, so I used a blow dryer to help achieve the volume I desired. Even after blow drying my hair still felt silky soft and no frizz. However, it did frizz a little around my crown when I went outside. The volume didn't stick around for the whole day, though, but half of the day was still really good in my book. The best part was that, even with the intense Southern summer heat and sweaty scalp, my hair still felt clean and silky.

Overall, I really liked Pantene's Fine Hair Solutions, but not quite as much as Pantene's Nature Fusion Moisture Balance -- now that gave me hair worthy of a shampoo commercial, and it smelled great. Still, I'd purchase Pantene's Fine Hair Solutions Shampoo and Conditioner again, simply because it did provide my hair with volume without making it look and feel dry and dull.
