Not only was their music exciting and fun to listen to, but the three guy two girl band know how to perform. And one of the best things about them, they actually interact well with the audience. I don't know how many shows I have been to that the band will almost completely ignore the audience or make the audience feel lower than them. For the Panther City Bandits, this is not the case. In fact, they actually went around after they finished performing and mingled with the audience.
This group has only been performing since March 17. However, if you listen to them, it sounds as if they've been performing like this for years. I'm am still in amazement of this group. One thing that really caught my attention was their style. In a very interesting way, and in a way that works excellent for them, they blend Punk, Alternative, Celtic, and Folk sounds together to create and non-stop fun and exciting new and fresh sound that keeps you wanting more.
Omega Follis, a local avid fan said of a previous show, "Wow. I have not been to a show that has jump started me like this in many years. I have found myself slinking away from our local music scene in recent years, finding many out there just aren't worth the cover. But Friday night, that all changed! Panther City Bandits is the band that just [rocks]. The songs have a point and bring you to smiling, and drinking!" And I totally agree.
The music does have a point and you just can't help but enjoy the show and smile. Deana Rose, another avid fan said, "They really are one of the best". And yes indeed, they are. I mean where else are you going to find and fun and exciting Punk, Alternative, Celtic and Folk sounding band with not only your drums and guitars, but keyboard and violin to join. This band is a must see and a must hear. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to spice up their listening pleasures.
For more information on the band and performances as well as a small sample of their music please check out www.myspace.com/panthercitybandits.
I hope to see you at the next show!
