Pants on the Ground Video a Big Success
Even Simon Cowell was impressed with the performance, and said that he had a feeling we would be seeing more of the General in the future.
Cowell was right! Jimmy Fallon even used the song "Pants on the Ground" during his show last night, breaking into it halfway through an impression.
"The View" has also booked the General to sing the song on air on Monday's show. Incase you missed the first performance of the song, make sure you tune in to The View on Monday to see it again.
General Larry Platt has an interesting past. He marched alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr during the Civil Rights Movement. After all he has been through in the name of Civil Rights, he was appalled to see a young man walking down the road with his pants hanging on the ground.
"Pants on the Ground" was a song that the General was inspired to write to embarrass the young man. His efforts paid off, and his video has already garnered millions of hits on YouTube. You can watch the video here, on Telegraph UK.
Some estimate that Platt will surpass Susan Boyle as an instant Internet Phenomenon. Both Platt and Boyle have one man in common - Simon Cowell. This just shows you how influential the judge of American Idol is in finding unique talent.
Simon Cowell will be leaving American Idol at the end of Season 9 to focus on his new show X Factor. It's already a hit in Britain and Cowell is bringing the show to the US. It is similar to Idol, except there is no age limit for participants.
Could Platt be one of the contestants on the next season of that show? Remember, Cowell said we would be seeing a lot more of him in the future!
