Pap Smears No Longer Necessary Till Women Are 21 Years Old
DEATH PANELS Won't Be Necessary If the Medical Taskforce Continues Making These Kinds of Decisions
Mammograms after 50 for women and now they state that Pap Smears are not necessary in young women. In the past medical doctors and scientists stated that young girls 18 years and older, or within 3 years of intercourse should begin having a yearly pap smear to check for cervical and uterine cancer. As of today these same doctors and scientists are claiming that these young women, even if sexually active, don't need a pap smear until they are 21 years old.
They state clearly that their reasons for this claim is that the stress of incorrect diagnosis and the fact that many young women's immune systems will clean out pre-cancerous cells before they become full blown cancer. They don't state that all young women who have pre-cancerous cells or cancer insitu as it is called will be guaranteed that these cells will die within their own bodies by their own immune systems.
The doctors also state that the stress of more tests such as a colposcopy is more harmful to the patient than is necessary and that the procedure to remove these cancer cells can have possible side affects when giving birth to children after the procedure. I have to say that I disagree with this method of controlling the spending of healthcare monies. I had cervical cancer insitu when I was 30 years old and went through the colposcopy and LEEP procedure to remove those cancer cells. I had no issues with giving birth to my third child after the procedure and have been cancer free since then. Having also went through the biopsy in the office before the surgery I would gladly go through this stress and small amount of pain then to suffer the extreme if the cancer had gone untreated.
Again another preventative test that may soon become non-covered by insurance carriers if they are performed prior to the age limits that these task forces are stating should now be the norm. Do I see more young women dying of cancer from lack of proper diagnosis, testing and treatment. Yes I see this as becoming a fact. Is this what the government has planned from the beginning? They won't stop us from getting these treatments but the insurance will not pay for the procedures and therefore many will be unable to have the lifesaving and necessary treatments.
No death panels, if this kind of lack of compassion and caring continues and our task forces and doctors continue to set back the ages of testing and treatments they won't need death panels. Well I suppose you could state that death panels will be necessary because we will have many more patients falling into those final days of having machines keep them alive and families being the ones to make those life and death decisions on turning them off. But, wait perhaps there will then be no coverage or choices left to family in this case either. Those task forces are not done re-evaluating our health care now are they.
