Valentine Collage
To make a valentine collage, you will need colored paper, a sheet of cardboard, a sheet of white paper, pencil, scissors, glue, red crayon or marker, and yarn.
First, trace a large heart onto a sheet of cardboard. Cut out the cardboard heart. Cut lots of differently colored hearts in assorted sizes and glue them to the cardboard heart. Overlap the hearts so every bit of cardboard is covered.
Cut a small rectangle from the sheet of white paper and draw a red border around it. Glue it to the heart. This is where you can write a valentine message to your sweetie. Glue the ends of a piece of heavy yarn to the back of the collage to make a loop.
Use your collage as a decoration or give to someone you love to hang around their neck!
Giant Valentine Fold-Out Card
This is cute for Valentine's Day parties for surprising someone you love with a sweet message!
First, you will need colored construction paper, white paper, a black marker, a pencil, scissors, tape, glue, sequins, buttons, and ribbon.
Cut lots of hearts out of the colored construction paper in all shapes and sizes. Decorate the hearts with designs, Add some bling to your card with sequins, buttons, ribbon, stickers, or whatever you desire to make your hearts pretty. Write a romantic message on the hearts such as "I Love You" or "You're Sweet", one letter on each heart.
Join a few sheets of white construction paper together and tape them together. Keep the paper straight as much as possible. Make the strip long enough to hold your whole message.
Now use glue to stick the hearts to the side of the white paper without tape. Add an extra heart on each end with some extra bling to make your sweetie feel extra special.
Stained-Glass Hearts
These are cute for elementary aged children and church groups to make for hanging in a sunny window.
First, you will need black construction paper, colored sheets of cellophane, tape, scissors, glue and brush, and a white pencil.
Make a pattern for stained-glass hearts and copy it onto the black construction paper. These patterns are available online or you can make one of your own. Carefully cut out the parts that are to be colored.
Use the colored sheets of cellophane to tape to the back of the paper. Remember the color wheel and mixing of colors. Blue over yellow will give you green. Red over yellow will give you orange and red over blue will give you purple.
To make the craft look more like glass, brush a little bit of glue across the cellophane. Now you are ready to tape your stained-glass hearts to a sunny window.
