Give your tied furniture, walls, and that special place in your home a face lift with just a few yards of wall paper and a little imagination.
We all have those lightweight stackable stools, just sitting around. Add a bit of wallpaper to the top and to the inside legs, they become beautiful, as well as very useful to help change the mood of your room.
Here are a few quick steps to transform them.
Pick out your choice of wallpaper
Turn your stool upside down and trace around the top of the stool onto the wallpaper with a pencil.
(You will want to make sure you have the stool centered on the pattern of the wallpaper)
Carefully place the paper on to the stool with your x-acto blade carefully trim off any parts that are overlapping.
Turn the stool right side up and brash a coat of mod podge craft glue on top of the stool.
Carefully place your paper on top of the stool, being careful to work out any air bubble with a wallpaper brush.
Apply two to three more coats of mod podge allowing time for each layer to dry
Repeat on each of the legs.
You did it now you have given your stools a fun new look.
You walk into your bedroom looking at your bed with no head board, well let's get busy and make one, out of wallpaper.
Measure your beds width and decide how tall you want your head board to be.
Get creative and decide what you would like your new headboard to look like.
Using newsprint scratch out ½ design this will make your pattern
Now cut two out of your wallpaper.
Using wallpaper past place ½ your design on the wall making sure there is no air bubbles
Next do the same with the other half.
Walla a new headboard for just a few dollars, and the nice thing is you can change it again and again.
Well we all have those empty photo frames, pick out frames of the same color not shape. If you do not have the same color of frames grab a can of spray paint and give them a little spray. Let's look that wallpaper and find set of flowers, leaves birds, animals or whatever fits your room. Carefully cut out at least 3 different patterns. I would recommend that you keep it an odd number such as 3, 5, or 7 it just makes for a nicer grouping. Now you have some cool wall art that really shows your own style.
If you cannot find any patterns or designs you can use for this but you have found some colors you like with cool designs in them. Why not try your hand at an age old tradition of Polish paper cutting, (Wycinanki) for more information on the loss art you can visit http://www.papercuttingsbyalison.com/categoryDetail.cfm?CategoryID=17
Hope this has given you some fresh ideas about that old left over wallpapers.
