Papillion Days 2010

With summertime just around the corner kids are filled with excitement; excited because they will close their school books for a few months. Excited because they'll no longer have a bedtime, and excited to participate in summer activities.

There will be hundreds of events nationwide but one that's not to miss is taking place in Nebraska from June 17^th through June 20^th and will be great for the entire family!

The Papillion Community Foundation presents "Papillion Days 2010"which will be held at Papillion City Park located at the cross streets of 84^th street and Lincoln in Papillion, NE. This park is just across the street from Papillion Junior High and Dairy Queen.

Throughout the event the surrounding areas (6^th street to 3^rd Place) will be blocked off to accommodate a carnival with a variety of rides that the whole family will enjoy. Pony rides for the little kids, games, a bar-b-que contest, live entertainment, food and shop vendors, and much more!

Each day is geared towards a specific age group so no one will be left out or forgotten. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday is "Youth Day" (up to 19 years old). They can purchase discounted wristbands, a talent show called "Papillion's Got Talent" will take place, and a youth dance will be held. Oh, the seniors will not be left out because that evening they too will have activities to enjoy.

Friday is "Family Night" where everyone can enjoy a huge fireworks display donated by "Bellino Fireworks," and an adult dance featuring the band "Lemon Fresh Day" will take place.

Saturday will also be filled with a lot of fun and activities. If the adults didn't get a lot of dancing in on Friday they'll be given another chance on Saturday because there will be a second adult dance featuring the band the
"Labels." A main parade will take place, a tractor pull, and the little ones will enjoy a kiddie parade and a duck paddle.

To wrap things up on Sunday there will be a free concert at the "Sumtur Amphitheater" which is located at 11691 South 108^th Street, just south of Papillion-La Vista South High School.

The locals will admit that downtown Papillion is pretty small but it is the place "to be" this summer from June 17^th through the 20^th.
