Remy is married to Rap star Papoose and he indicated to Vibe Magazine that he wasn't allowed to speak on the details of the successful appeal. However, we can easily estimate her eventual early release date if her appeal has now been granted. She was sentenced in 2008 to eight years and she has now served three years of those eight. As such, we could estimate that her successful appeal would cut down her time served to half. If that is the case then she will be serving one more year in Rikers Island. This is amazing news for Remy Ma since it will give her time to spend with husband Papoose and focus on her music. Rikers Island is well known as one of the toughest prisons in New York and her confinement has not been conducive to her musical talent. In fact, Remy Ma has not released any music since the release of her album titled Blasremy in 2008. This is an album that featured appearances by Papoose, Jae Millz, and Hooks. Fat Joe did not make an appearance on the album and it is not known if Remy Ma will resign to the Terror Squad record label that Fat Joe runs. I suspect that she will consider resigning to Terror Squad because Big Pun was responsible for giving Remy Ma her first recording deal within the music industry. With all things considered, Remy Ma has proven that she is very talented while working with Fat Joe in the past. I suspect that many fans are very happy about her early prison release and look forward to her upcoming music.
