Pappas has an entire chain if different cuisine Houses, including the Pappas Steakhouse, which is on my list of places to visit. Pappas Seafood House is a proud tradition carried on by the founder, a couple of generations back, H.D. Pappas. The Pappas Seafood House, located at 19991 I-45 S. @ NASA Rd. 1, in Webster, Texas (in the Galveston / Houston area) was the location where we dined.
We had specifically chosen this location for the summer all-you-can-eat snow crab legs special. I mean, it's not often you find all-you-can-eat seafood, is it?
Pappas Seafood House Interior & Décor
When we pulled up to the front of Pappas Seafood House, I was disappointed. I really had wanted to take my friend out someplace really special and nice for her birthday, and Pappas Seafood House didn't look like it was fancy at all.
I was wrong and looks can be deceiving, because the interior of Pappas Seafood House is fancier than casual dining, but not quite as uppity as fine dining. It's a very nice restaurant. The tables are neat, the seating is comfortable, and the interior appears to be decorated so as to resemble the inside of a ship or yacht. Part of the dining room was decorated and appears a little nicer than the other part of the dining room, but the décor was very attractive, and the bar was gorgeous.
You would likely be comfortable dining at Pappas Seafood House in jeans or in nice clothes too, but it's a little nicer than casual.
Pappas Seafood House Menu
We didn't spend a lot of time looking at the menu, because, let's face it, you can't beat all-you-can-eat crab legs, but I did take the time to glance at the vast choices of fresh seafood and fish on the menu. The prices are... well, they're a little pricey, but they do have some good deals. If you have a landlubber in your party who doesn't like seafood, they do have a decent selection of non-seafood red-meat meals from which to choose, but really, what's the point of going to a seafood restaurant to eat cow?
Pappas Seafood House Bar & Drinks
Free refills on tea, sodas and coffee, with a full bar of alcoholic beverages from which to choose. Pappas Seafood House has plenty of specialty drinks, including some fascinating ocean water and watermelon named/styled mixed drinks. My friend ordered one of the specialty drinks, and it was a good size in a nicely shaped glass. Your favorite beer, ale and hard liquor are all available for order from the bar at Pappas Seafood House.
Pappas Seafood House Appetizers
The pre-meal salad was not included, so we added that for an extra price ($2.50, I think) and then we ordered the shrimp Acapulco appetizer, which was a shrimp cocktail with pico de gallo, cocktail sauce, avocado and shrimp in a large cocktail glass. It was approximately $9, and was stuffed full of shrimp and avocado. Very yummy!
Every meal is served with a hard crust, warm, soft interior bread, wrapped in a soft cloth and served with decorative butter palettes. The bread was amazing, and you can have as much as you crave.
Pappas Seafood House All-You-Can-Eat Crab Legs
We both ordered the all-you-can-eat crab legs for $29.99 each. A little pricey, but when you consider the price of a regular crab leg meal, and then add the all-you-can-eat deal into it, it's really quite reasonable.
The crab legs were served on a bed of linguini alfredo noodles, with fresh diced tomatoes and herbs and a buttery alfredo sauce. The crab legs were unlimited, but the noodles were only one serving, but it was a large serving. The way it works is, you get your first order, which was two large claw legs of snow crab, and then when you're ready for more, you alert the waiter or waitress, and they will bring you another fresh order.
We had three servings of crab legs, before we both knew we would simply burst or explode if we even thought of crab legs again!
Pappas Seafood House Dessert
I can't even tell you about Pappas Seafood House desserts, because we were so stuffed, we couldn't even think about dessert, but they do have all the traditional desserts for a restaurant, including cheesecake.
Pappas Seafood House Conclusion
The entire tab was a little over $100 bucks, but we had drinks, salads, two all-you-can-eat crab leg meals, and appetizers, so as far as seafood goes, it wasn't overly pricey. However, it's definitely not a place you'd want to eat at every night. For a special occasion, Pappas Seafood House is an exceptional place to go for a special night out.

Post a CommentI'm so jealous. We live on the coast and don't have the choice of seafood restaurants that you do! Great mouth watering review. :)
Sounds great!
