Parallel Universes: Fact or Fiction

Sebastian Thomas
There is no one reality. Each of us lives in a separate universe. Unfortunately, most books on parallel universes and quantum cosmology are written in languages that an ordinary intelligent person cannot understand. This asks us to assume, among other things, that a universe exists "right now" somewhere that differs from our own only in that one electron on one remote planet of one distant star in, say, the Andromeda Galaxy is in a less excited energy state. Another universe exists in which the earth has two natural moons.

Another exists in which George Washington was assassinated. If a universe can be imagined, it exists. The late Sir James Jeans, the great British astronomer, was among the first scientists to recognize the universe as a creature of imagination. It all started when superstring theory, hyperspace and dark matter made physicists realize that the three dimensions we thought described the Universe weren't enough. There are actually 11 dimensions.

By the time they had finished they'd come to the conclusion that our Universe is just one bubble among an infinite number of membranous bubbles which ripple as they wobble through the eleventh dimension. Notions of parallel universes or dimensions that resemble our own have appeared in works of science fiction and have been used as explanations for metaphysics.

A specific group of parallel universes is called a multiverse, although this term can also be used to describe the possible parallel universes that constitute physical reality. In some places the veil of other parallel dimensions is quite transparent and very real for some sensitive people.

The following shows have been referenced in parallel dimensions including Sliders, Stargate SG-1 and the Spider Man cartoon series. The notion that you can exist in a different dimension, doing different things and knowing different people can be quite mind boggling, but the possibility may in fact be there according to the most current scientific research. So who knows? What if several of you were doing so many inconceivable things and living a life much different than the current one that you are living now?

You may be rich, poor, never able to get a woman, enriched with a full family and maybe not even have one at all. The possibilities of this are endless and almost hurt the mind to even think and fathom about. So I recommend to all to live your most current life now to the fullest and make it better as each day goes by for your sake and others.
