Paramount Pictures Holds Open Casting Call for Upcoming Eddie Murphy Film 'Nowhereland'

Studio Calls for Young Girls Ages 4-7

Paramount Pictures, which just had a stellar week thanks to the box office smash, "Transformers," is now moving towards a more family-oriented film.

In preparation for the upcoming production, "Nowhereland," a family film starring Eddie Murphy, Paramount Pictures has released a casting call notice in search of a young girl to play Murphy's daughter in the film.

According to the call released by Paramount Pictures, the studio is looking for "smart, outgoing girls with great personalities who would love to be in a Hollywood film." The studio is also asking that those smart, outgoing girls with great personalities be between the ages of 4 and 7.

The release goes on to state those three magic words: "No experience required." The casting call, spearheaded by Jeanne McCarthy Casting, is an open call. While agented child actors are welcome, so are those without representation. The call makes no mention of need for headshots. In the past, this sort of call has required the child to be photographed on location by one of the agency's employees. These types of photos are usually instant Polaroids or digital photographs which can be retrieved later.

The call will take place on both Saturday, July 14th and Sunday, July 15th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Lulu Washington Dance Studio. Lulu Washington is located at 3773 Crenshaw Blvd in Los Angeles. As always, young hopefuls enroute to the open call will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

"Nowhereland" is the story of a financial executive in the middle of a career crisis. With his career in near shambles, he is invited into his daughter's imaginary world in order to solve his real world problems. "Nowhereland" is slated for theatrical release in September of 2008 and is being helmed by Karey Kirkpatrick (Over the Hedge). Di Bonaventura Pictures, the production company behind "1408," "Batman Begins" and the upcoming, "Stardust," is producing.

Murphy is currently filming the oddball comedy, "Starship Dave." The film centers around an alien spacecraft manned by miniature aliens. However, the spaceship in question isn't just any flying saucer. It's actually a spaceship in human form (Murphy). As Murphy's character falls in love with an earth woman, the crew must try to bring their ship back under control.

In 2009, Murphy will reprise his role as Alex Foley in "Beverly Hills Cop IV" and, for those who just can't get enough sequels, "Shrek 4" is also slated for release in 2010.

Eddie has never been the same after his live preformance of RAW. I used to live in the next county over from him in Jersey. One day I went up to his gate pressed the intercom I said --Yo Edddiiieee Yo Eddddiiieee I then i heard on the intercom "who is this" I knew it was him--I said Yo Eddddieee can you come out and play some basketball"--not even 5 minutes later-2 big black guys had me lifted off my feet and was walking me in air back to my car. 2 miutes later the cops showed up--needless to say I havent returned since I have just one thing to say to him--"Yo Edddiieee why you do me like that--you mudddaaa--ahhh never mind"

Well I loved the first two Beverly Hill shows (don't remember the 3rd too well) - I can't see the 4th doing very good either. Just can't turn back time and I think those that loved the original would find it hard not to compare with a young Murphy and Reinhold. Oh and John Ashton too. Then again with Murphy you never know. :-)
