Paranormal Activity at Studio 35 in Columbus Ohio
Guaranteed to Give You Nightmares-September 25 & 26 and October 1, 2, & 3

Paranormal Activity is a new scary movie being featured as a special limited edition engagement at Studio 35. The film will be offered up in the form of a chilling midnight showing this weekend and next, starting tonight, September 25, 2009.
Being touted as one of the scariest movies to emerge in a long time, guaranteed to leave a horrific imprint on viewers' psyches and catalyze nightmares, this film is not for the timid or weak or overly susceptible to fear. However, if you glean a perversely titillating pleasure from being terrified-or if you have an odd personal interest in the paranormal, demonic, or haunting-or if you are in the mood to get into the spirit of the Halloween season a little early, then Paranormal Activity just might be for you.
Subtitled 'Evidence of a Haunting', the film charts the increasingly distressing progression of one young couple's experience with an otherworldly disturbance. I don't want to give away any details before you have a chance to experience the mounting horror for yourself, but I will say that I had the opportunity to partake of a special preview of Paranormal Activity last night and it definitely left its impression.
It inhabits the kind of psychological horror that creeps forth at its own pace, slowly but surely infiltrating the psyche. At first, I felt as if the events of the film were unfolding too slowly and I was not gripped by fear from the get go, but the steady progression of paranormal deviance grew into a more & more palpable form until I was overtaken. While I was lying in bed last night, I found my mind replaying certain troubling details from the film. I kept getting startled awake, thinking that I had heard something strange or glimpsed something weird on the periphery. The uneasiness-generating content of Paranormal Activity was still permeating my subconscious and having a creepy delayed effect.
Sound intriguing? See for yourself. Paranormal Activity will be shown at midnight on September 25 & 26 and October 1, 2, & 3 only, at Studio 35, Columbus's most charming independent cinema and draft house. Studio 35 is located at 3055 Indianola Avenue in the heart of Clintonville.
Studio 35 is also currently showing 500 Days of Summer and Extract. A tasty selection of beers and ales are on draft at Studio 35, including Columbus Brewing Company's Summer Teeth, Hoster's Gold Top, Great Lakes Independence Ale, & Pabst Blue Ribbon. In addition to the many yummy brews, Studio 35 offers a multifarious selection of all your theater food faves, from tubs of hot buttered popcorn to boxes of old-school candies to Root Beer Floats. All of these goodies, plus the theater allows moviegoers to order from a menu of salads, subs, and delicious pizzas that they may dine upon during their film viewing experience. All of these delicious delights, plus word on the street is that sometimes lucky patrons will even find incredibly delectable gourmet cupcakes at Studio 35, in all kinds of sweet sizes, shapes and palate-pleasing flavors-envisioned, designed, and homemade by one of the theater's owners herself.
I wonder what kind of cupcakes might be served to accompany a horror-arousing movie like Paranormal Activity. Bloody cupcakes, shape-shifting cupcakes, levitating cupcakes, cupcakes that are not of this world? However demonic such cupcakes might look, I imagine they would taste strangely divine. Stomaching the cupcakes might not pose a problem but stomaching the paranormal activity might be another matter indeed.
Catch up on your sleep beforehand and then trick or treat yourself to a midnight showing of Paranormal Activity at Studio 35 tonight.
