Paranormal Investigations & Christmas Spirits

Do Ghosts Break for the Holidays?

Jill O'Malley
With the holiday season fast approaching many paranormal groups begin to experience a lull in potential clients contacting them. Whereas Halloween tends to throw buckets of investigations our way, the Christmas season tends to leave the ghosts a bit left out. As most people who have a resident spirit can attest to, activity does not stop just because December rolls around. In fact, some experience an increase in activity. With that in mind, why is it that paranormal activity tends to get swept under the rug around this time of year?

Many clients are hesitant about how to approach a paranormal investigation team at the best of times. When holiday decorations start going up and family gatherings are being planned the idea of having a group of strangers enter your home to investigate can become downright scary. If you have never had a paranormal team in your home you may be a bit worried on just what they might do and how everything works. If that is one of your fears then I encourage you to contact any team (either local or on the Internet) and see how they conduct investigations. Though every group does not do exactly the same things, this will give you a good idea of how an investigation would run.

Another main reason that clients seem to hesitate more so around the Christmas holiday's is because they worry that fitting in an investigation will take too much of their time. More often than not this is an exaggerated worry as the paranormal group is the one who ends up doing 90-100% of the work. All our group requires for a basic first investigation is that you block off some time (just a few hours) when you are fairly certain that you won't be having guests stop by. If you would like to hold off on having the actual investigation until after the holiday's that can more than likely be arranged. Even if you hold off on an actual investigation, contacting a group and simply talking to one of it's members can help alleviate some of the stress you may be feeling by wondering what is going on in your home. Alleviating any stress around the holiday season can help you to focus on other things that you would rather be doing and at the same time can get the ball rolling on figuring out what may be going on, paranormally speaking, in your home.

Though most paranormal teams have many of the same holiday traditions and planning as you have, a lot of people do not understand that investigating is one of the ways that we relax. Paranormal investigating is not a main stream "hobby", and in fact, many an investigator does not label what they do as a hobby. Since ghosts do not break for the holiday's it can be a great time to get in touch with someone to see if they can help you out. Though Christmas comes only once a year, ghosts and paranormal activity do not follow a calendar. If you have wanted to contact someone about any activity you may be experiencing, try not to let the Christmas season stop you. Most teams are very flexible when it comes to the client's needs and because of that you can enjoy your holiday time with little interruption.

From our team to you, we wish you a happy holiday and many positive Christmas spirits.

  • Paranormal groups tend to experience a lull in case load around the Christmas season.
  • Ghosts are active all year and not just around Halloween.
  • Simply talking to a group can help give you ease of mind so your holiday's can run more smoothly.
One way to relieve stress and better manage your holiday season is to plan ahead and keep lists of what needs to be done when.
