Parenting - Age Group Between 6 to 10 Years

Parenting your child in the age group between 6 to 10 years is a unique and a vital task. This is a phase when every child learns the most fundamental core values of their life. They learn about themselves, about their surrounding, their culture, family values, about their future aim, career, their passion and hobbies etc , in short they try to learn about every thing in the life which will be useful to them in future .

Core values of life
Parenting your child about Core values of life is most essential, because depending on these values their future is moulded. Child at this age can be easily moulded and so teach your child about the fundamental traits of life. This is the phase you should teach your child about hygiene, their dental care as this is the period for the milk teeth being replaced by permanent teeth, body and mind clean and free from external agents.

At this age group children play and try to explore the world around them and they tend to get dirty. So as a parent you should be very careful with their cleanliness. It has been observed that a child of this age group are affected by skin diseases due to lack of proper hygiene.

Balanced diet
Balanced diet is most essential for the growth of the child mentally and physically. Children at this age group like to eat junk food or eat very less. At this age every child requires great amount of energy, so intake of food plays most crucial part.

Green vegetables and fruits should be given along with good amount of protein, carbohydrates. Milk, eggs or meat should be given on regular basis as this is the age when child grows both mentally and physically. Water and other liquids should be insisted to be taken by the child in sufficient quantity.

Vitamins and roughage should be given to the child, so that their growth is not effected and they don't have any bowel movement problems, which is seen most common in this age group.

In hobbies and passion
At this age the child has full energy and wants to learn every thing he or she sees around. They want to learn music, dance, art, and painting all simultaneously. As a result they become jack of all but master of none. So as a parent it is our duty to guide the child and find out which is the best hobby. Never force the child to take up as a hobby which they don't like. In the same time shouldn't restrict the child to do his/her passion for anything.

Give encouragement to your child's imagination; give them freedom to express their imagination and creativity.

Positive attitude
Develop and cultivate positive thoughts, attitude in your child, so that they can be groomed as a good human beings. Never allow your child to get negative thoughts in their minds. A child at this age group is very sensitive and if you can implant positive attitude, thoughts and energy so that they never ever bog down in their life.

Teach your child about compassion, team work, and god fearing, sharing with other, and facing any problem with right frame of mind.

Empathy and respect
Teaching to respect towards elders, love and have empathy towards old, sick and disease persons. Show them how to behave respectfully and in a dignified manner towards elders and senior citizens.

Education
Education is the most essential aspect of one's life, so as a parent you should develop the studying habit on regular basis. Playing, hobbies and their passion are required but education is the most essential.

Studying and completing their tasks on regular and every day basis, will help the child to secure well in their exams reduce examination pressure.

Therefore parenting is the most difficult and essential part. We should create very helpful and friendly atmosphere for the child growth, which will help them to shape their future.
