Parenting: What is It?

Everyone has come across the term parenting but no one has specifically defined it. To some parenting is just raising children and giving them good education. But for Some others, parenting is creating socially responsible and productive individuals.

School and college education can imbibe intellectual qualities where as a parent develops various social qualities in his child. It is the responsibility of the parents to see that their children are intellectually, emotionally and physically secure in the society. Parenting is equipping the child to face the challenges of this world when left all alone.

Usually mother or the father or both the parents take up the responsibility of parenting. Sometimes, relatives also take the responsibility of parenting and for orphans; it is the orphanage that takes care of them.

Well, many definitions have come up for parenting. However, one can see that parenting is not that easy. Raising a child is difficult but as long as you are a good parent, you can mould his character to be a great human being.
