Parenting Tips You Learned from Watching TV

Mrs. Renee
Believe it or not there are several tips and ideas that can be gained from watching television shows with families. Although I would never recommend that you follow exactly what you see others do, you will be surprised at some of the ideas. Below you will find more than five valuable insights that I have learned from occasionally watching just two shows.

One show in particular that has offered up lots of helpful information and advice is "A Baby Story ". This show, follows parents as they go through the last few weeks of pregnancy. For those who are pregnant for the first time this information in priceless. What is really nice about "A Baby Story ", is that each episode has a different family with different circumstances. There are some families that are expecting multiples, some expecting their first baby, and others expecting their fifth baby which is just one helpful insight. With such a wide range of shows it offers up helpful advice for lots of expectant parents. It also gives you the opportunity to see what happens prior to delivery, and during delivery, which is the second valuable insight. The valuable information shown helps parents to feel a bit more prepared after watching the show. When expecting my first and second child I found this show to contain a lot of helpful information on what you need for your baby and what to expect at the hospital which is the third and fourth valuable insights learned.

Next would be "John and Kate plus 8 ". Over the past few years this particular show has definitely grown in popularity. That is not the reason why I find it interesting. What I really like are the helpful tips given by the parents in almost all of the episodes. One that really stands out in my mind where they plan a trip to Hawaii. This episode showed how much they had to pack for such a large family, and the step by step process, which is number five on my list of valuable insights. You can also get an idea of how much you will need to pack for such young children. Of course this can vary depending on how long you will be gone, but good suggestions are offered. The basic thing learned from that episode was how to organize your packing for a long trip with a large family. They really shared some valuable travel advice for any parent who travels with kids. The suggestions on bringing snacks and toys to keep the kids occupied when on an airplane is also very helpful information. Some of these techniques such as being more organized around the house, and on vacation I have even been able to inculcate into my own family routine.
