Parenting Toddler Twins

Parenting twin toddlers can be both rewarding and challenging. My twin toddlers keep me busy from the time they pry my eyes open in the morning, until the time the last one falls asleep at night. I must confess this was not my original idea of motherhood. In a typical day at least one thing goes incredibly wrong. This morning it happened when I had been awake twenty minutes, and was still drinking my coffee.

Twin A was innocently playing at my feet when Twin B jumps into the doorway yelling "naked butt" and in fact she was undressed. As I set my coffee up (way up, they have a taste for coffee) and run to solve the problem, the innocent toddler is suddenly in action. Not until after I capture and re-dress Twin B, do I discover Twin A is hiding in the kitchen. She has gotten into the craft cupboard and grabbed the markers. Yes, the writings on the wall, and in a rainbow of colors she calls "rain clouds".

Unfortunately that was not the end of this particular toddler episode. I clean the halfway decent toddler art off the wallpaper the best I can (and no it doesn't look perfect). Then I realize both twins have disappeared into my bedroom. When I get there I see both toddlers have their clothes removed. I realize this is an attempt at attention, however of course they need to be dressed again this morning. While I am dressing one toddler the other scampers off to the other room. After one more toddler capture, and re-applying all clothing, I am free to enjoy my cold cup of coffee.

Great, funny article! When both of my twins present themselves naked I decide it must be bath time, new activity for them and a little break for me from chasing them around.
