Parents Receive DVD of Principal and Teacher Having Sex at School

A suburban Illinois school has been hit by scandal after a DVD of the principal having sex in his office was anonymously sent to parents.

The principal, Leroy Coleman, is seen having sex with science teacher J anet Lofton in his office at Sandbridge Elementary School in Lynwood, Ill. A teacher's aid, Anjayla Reed, is also seen touching and hugging Coleman on the two hour video.

Brown has resigned citing health reasons. Lofton did the same citing family illness. Reed quit Friday without giving reasons for her departure.

Parent Kim Grivakis received the DVD in the mail on Wednesday. She spearheaded a Thursday parent's meeting.

Grivakis said, "It made me sick. It's very graphic. I can't tell you how graphic because I have two children standing right here."

The Cook county sheriff's office and state's attorney are investigating whether charges can be brought against school staff or the person who is responsible for the DVD.

Penny Mateck sheriff's department spokesperson said, "At this point we don't know if a crime has been committed"

The sheriff's office has a copy of the DVD and have identified the staff members who appear on the DVD.

John Izzo, an attorney for the district, said district officials have not seen the DVD but are investigating the situation.

"Somebody without permission gained access to confidential district office space and planted a surreptitious recording device, and that's frightening, There are confidential records there-student records."

Parents have expressed concern that some students seem aware of the misconduct.

"These kids need to not know about this stuff. They're too young," Lisa Claves complained. "You've even got kindergartens wondering what sexual things are, and it's not right."

"They should have handled the situation better than what they're doing. It's like they're more laid back about it," said parent Kareem Moseley, "and not only that, kids don't need to see nothing like that. It should have been more better handled than that."

It is not known when the DVD was recorded but time and date stamps suggest it was recorded in December and January.

Parents are planning a protest once spring break has ended.

Great article...horrible behavior. Yet another reason to homeschool whenever possible. I hope no children saw the incident. Not that I like the fact that a principal and teacher did this at school, but if no children saw the event, it's not quite as bad. Was this an elementary school?

Good article, but horrible shame these things even happen

It's pretty sad that parents have to worry about what our kids are seeing and hearing in school.

That's awful! (But, I can't keep from laughing a little.) I guess it's better to resign than wait for dismissal.

The district is trying to downplay the sex by focusing on the recording device. "Student records." Ha!
