A child's toddler years are some of the most influential years of a child's life. It is during this time that a child develops most parts of its brain, learns how to talk, learns general motor skills and many social rules. It can also be a frustrating time for parents because toddlers are often frustrated by their inability to convey their feelings and needs. Following are some great online resources that will help you answer questions about raising your toddler.

Zero to Three

This site is an incredible resource. They have information about brain development, child development, early language and literacy, health and nutrition, playtime, sleep, school readiness, social emotional development and temperament and behavior. Each section has a wealth of articles, FAQs and tips.

This website is put out by the University of Illinois and covers such topics as potty training, a toddler's curiosity, dealing with "no" and feeding those picky toddler eaters.

This is a fun site with descriptions of your child's development at different ages. They offer suggestions for making things a little less frustrating during each stage and activity ideas.

This is the official website of Mother's of Preschoolers International. They have a forum where you can get advice and support from other moms, different groups to join (some even for different locations), articles, and a magazine.

This is a blog that is updated regularly with some great educational activity ideas for your toddler. They give steps on how to set up and do the activity as well as an explanation as to why the activity is educationally beneficial. All the activities are low cost and they have some great pictures to show the activities.

This site covers just about everything you can think of from developmental milestones to sleeping problems and ideas for playtime. You can sign up for a weekly email that gives an explanation of that weeks milestones and some helpful articles to read.

This site has great information about toddler nutrition and features healthy recipes that even picky eaters will enjoy. Recipes are divided into breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
