Paris Goes Home: The Sexy and Rich Are Above the Law

Mary Morris
I am not a big Paris Hilton hater. I don't care for her behavior at all, I am not obsessed with disliking her; however, I was upset to see that if you are a blonde heiress, the rules do not seem to apply.

If this had been anyone else, a single mom on her only night out, or a pretty not so rich girl, you can bet that they would be behind bars serving out the sentence that they had coming for driving under the influence. There would not have been such lenience right off the start. If it were me, I would be in jail for a long time. Why? Because I am not someone out there promoting my sexuality, degrading myself and other women by having certain riskay photos on the internet and who knows what else. I actually have a brain and I do not think that because my family has money, that I am above everyone else.

I am a mother, wife, daughter, someone that contributes money that I don't have to help others. Someone that is compassionate and caring. I even fell sorry for Paris. Would I be in jail right now dealing with it? You bet.

I think it is sad that this is the message that is sent out to young people, that if you have certain name and enough cash flow, that you do not need to follow the rules. I think that her parents should be making her own up to her mistakes and not show the rest of the world how to tap dance your way out of it. If my children were to meet the same fate as Paris, it would kill me, but I would not run down there and bail them out. I would want them to learn that this is what that type of behavior gets you. Hopefully, it would scare them into not doing it again. That is what these laws are designed for. Either scaring people straight or keeping harmful people off the street.

It isn't like they didn't have Paris set up in special quarters, away from others. Most people do not get that luxury. As for Staff infection, I guarantee, she is at more risk for infection and disease just by her own lifestyle rather than worrying about it in jail! Let's not forget the biggest reason that we have laws against driving under the influence; killing another human being.

I wish that whole mess a lot of luck. I also hope that Paris realizes that she could have hurt or killed someone else or even herself. I think we will see her again in this situation, because she wasn't taught a darn thing!

Have I ever been to jail? The answer is no. How do I know what I am talking about with respects to actually being in a cell? I don't. I make sure that I follow the law and try to do the right thing so that I never have to be faced with the horror. That's the point! Follow the rules, and you won't get into trouble! What a concept.
I think it is sad her family has all this money and prestige and they can't raise their daughter better than that.
