Paris Hilton Claims the Purse Wasn't Her's, but Twitter PIctures Tell Another Story

Paris Hilton's alibi the night she was arrested in Las Vegas for possession of Cocaine might be coming unraveled thanks to a picture she posted to Twitpic.

Paris Hilton and her boyfriend Cy Waits were arrested last week while driving on the Vegas Strip after police spotted his SUV driving slightly erratically with smoke billowing out of the back seat area. When Waits was pulled over an officer stated he saw the driver with bloodshot eyes and a marijuana roach on the passengers seat.

Cy Waits failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for a DUI, while Paris Hilton was booked on a felony charge of possession of Cocaine after a small baggy filled with .8 ounces of Cocaine fell out of her purse in a Hotel bathroom. Hilton had requested to be taken to the bathroom of a nearby Casino until a female officer could arrive fearing tourists would take her picture and sell it to tabloid magazines.

While in the bathroom Paris asked the officer for her purse and the bag fell out while she was looking for lip balm. Hilton immediately told the officer the purse wasn't hers, and she wouldn't be caught dead with a cheap Chanel purse.

But that is where the story takes a turn and Paris starts to contradict herself. TMZ and RadarOnline published pictures taken directly from Paris Hilton's Twitpic account where Hilton showed off the exact same purse via Twitter on July 15th. In the comments she tweets, "Love My New Chanel Purse I Got Today. :)"

While the District Attorney for Clark County Nevada say's what type of purse Paris was carrying that night wasn't disclosed in the police report, witnesses and evidence from the scene show the purse in question matches the purse from the picture posted online. The picture may be used as evidence against Paris Hilton if the case goes to a grand jury and Hilton goes on trial.

Paris and her boyfriend Cy were both dealt harsh blows immediately after their arrests with Cy Waits being fired from his job as a nightclub operator at the Wynn resorts and casino and the couple being banned from almost every hotel and casino in Las Vegas. Many casino's and nightclubs that were happy to host the heiress have turned their backs on her in the wake of her arrest saying they don't want the negative publicity attached to their establishments.

A spokesman for the Las Vegas police department told E! News, "She's being charged with possession, so it doesn't matter if it's hers or someone else's. She's the person in possession of it, so it doesn't matter." The spokesman went on to say Paris Hilton was treated the exact same way as any other person would be if they were found in possession of drugs. "This is a common typical arrest. We don't keep track of people's purses and we don't impound people's purses when we find evidence or contraband in them." Hilton was back at her home in California following her arrest trying to lay low with Waits and her family, including sister Nicky Hilton and her boyfriend David Katzenberg who were seen coming and going from Hilton's home. Her arrest is the ending of an already bad week for Paris who was awoken August 24th to an intruder trying to break into her house carrying two large knives.

Cy Waits reportedly held the intruder, Nathan Lee Parada, at gunpoint until police arrived around 6:30AM and arrested him. Parada had reportedly bought a map of star houses hours before trying to break into Paris Hilton's home.
