Paris and her boyfriend, Las Vegas nightclub owner, Cy Waits, were arrested and taken to the Clark County jail. Paris was released in the morning without having to post bond.
Officer Marcus Martin confirmed that the substance found on Paris was tested and proved to be cocaine. The jet-setting heiress is now facing a felony cocaine possession charge. While there was no comment from Clark County District Attorney David Roger, Paris Hilton's attorney, David Chesnoff told the media that he was in the process of collecting facts surrounding the arrest. "But I caution people not to rush to judgment," he said.
This is a pretty silly statement for David Chesnoff to make about a rush to judgment on whether Paris Hilton uses drugs or not.
I would hardly say people are "rushing to judgment" in thinking Paris uses drugs when you take into account that Paris has had two run-ins with the law just last month, both concerning marijuana.
First Paris was taken into police custody in South Africa when some marijuana was found on her while she was at the World Cup game between the Netherlands and Brazil. A friend of Paris' took the blame for owning the weed, which apparently wasn't even enough to carry a bigger penalty then a fine.
Two weeks after that, on July 17th, Paris was arrested at Figari airport in Corsica when sniffer dogs were nosing around her luggage, causing the customs agents to take a closer look. Less than a gram of marijuana was found in her purse, the matter was handled and Paris Hilton was off to enjoy the rest of her Mediterranean vacation.
In court, these prior episodes may not mean anything, but in the public eye, it hardly seems like a rush to judgment to think Paris Hilton is using drugs when she is constantly being picked up for carrying illegal substances around the world. If she's not using them, then she ought to stop carrying them for the people who are.

Post a CommentSounds like Paris is going to have to face American justice again. Perhaps her parents should be arrested for spoiling her.
Conrad Hilton must be be proud!
I agree with Sondra~!
She is getting to be boring. How come she does not go to jail again?
Great report - how many chances does Paris Hilton (and other celebrities) expect to get before they get some serious jail time?
Great report. Not surprised at this recent event - well it is an event isn't it? Paris needs to change the company she's keeping - but that wouldn't be any fun for her.
Insanity-Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. Paris should have been named after that famous river in Egypt.
Being busted for marijuana is one thing, cocaine another.
I don't think she'll be able to talk her way out of this one. Looks like a slam dunk conviction.
Nice close...still, I would have voted for her over McCain for President. One more time check out that response to the good senator on funnyordie.com.
