Paris Hilton: You Do the Crime, You Must Do the Time!

Sue Ellen K.
So Paris Hilton is being offered a sentence. How fitting. And also, how surprising that she is trying to get out of a very sticky situation by contacting friends in high places and making petitions. Truly, this act is truly pathetic. For anyone to mention Paris Hilton as a role model is a mere tragedy. Paris Hilton had a book published a while ago, but it was just a picture book of the places she has visited. It was only a scrap book. How can anything like that be admired? And what do the fans of Paris Hilton expect from her in return of their faithfulness? I'm absolutely sure that she turns up her nose at them and avoids whiffing their low-class scent of poverty. Well, to her, their status would be considered poverty, even if a fan of hers happened to be a doctor. What Paris Hilton needs to understand is this: When you do something very bad in society, and when you get caught, there is a punishment that ensues. The punishment is to discipline you into knowing that your action was wrong, dangerous, and potentially life-threatening. The punishment is to dissuade you from committing that specific action again.

This is why Paris Hilton must go to jail. But forty-five days? Why did the sentence get lowered to a mere forty-five days? Ninety days would have definitely been fitting for this worthless socialite. I'm just imaging Paris Hilton in jail now. No Prada bag. No little Chihuahua. No Texas-sized sunglasses. No designer clothes. How perfect! She may actually get a small taste of what it is like to be a normal, unruly person. What confuses me is why Paris Hilton's mother is acting a "fool" (as Ludacris would say) over her daughter's sentencing. How is it wrong? I'm sure if Paris Hilton was involved in a car accident, her mother would immediately do everything she can to put that potential drunk driver behind bars. I'm actually absolutely sure about this. So say Paris Hilton hurt someone else while driving recklessly and drunk without a license. Doesn't that person who got hurt, or their family, have a right to sue Paris Hilton if she was in the wrong? Is she not human? In the end, it comes down to this. Paris Hilton breathes our oxygen, she drinks our water. She has blood flowing in her veins like the rest of us, and ultimately takes a dump like most capable humans do. And no, her 'doo-doo' does not smell Mountain Pine fresh, or even Whitehouse Cherry sweet. No, its just regular feces, depending on what she ate that day. And guess what? She screwed up. It doesn't matter who her daddy is. It doesn't matter that the jewels on her pinky are worth than your years' savings. It doesn't matter. What matters here is that she was carrying on with a life-threatening, illegal act, and now she must pay. As you can see, I have absolutely no sympathy for her. And I'm sure her Chihuahua doesn't either. Poor little thing.

I hate all the crap I see in the tabloids about "Paris's jail hell" and how her sentence was unfair. I'm sorry -- you commit a crime, you should face the consequences. I'm glad that judge had the balls to stand up to her and give her jail time. Good article.

somehow, though, I think the publicity is doing her more good than 'punishment'
