Paris Hilton Defends Her New BFF Britney Spears

Paris Hilton recently went on a PR style damage control frenzie in the hopes of making the public see what a great mom Britney Spears really is. She posted on her myspace page a letter to anyone who was willing to read it.

"Lately, you've been seeing pics of me and Britney partying.....and she knows that some of her fans are very upset about what they call her 'behavior' and sadly they're blaming the issue on her being friends with me," Hilton wrote. "For people to call out her parenting skills on behalf of her partying ethics is appalling. Britney loves her kids to death, and I know for a fact that it truly hurts her when she sees these cruel things being written about her. She goes home every night to her babies and partying has not come in the way of her parenting.

"Anyone who has called her out on this should really be ashamed," Hilton admonishes. "There are thousands of mothers out there who like to go out and have a good time. But, you do not see people out there calling them 'bad parents.' She's young, and if she wants to go out and have some fun, let her. Just because she does these things does not mean she doesn't care about her children. For the sake of Britney and her kids, be kind. Love, Paris"

This was posted after the alleged story of Paris and Britney being more than just "friends". It is unknown who first began the rumour, but Paris assures the media and the public that it is just that-a rumour. Frankly, I believe the both of them are playing a game with the public, shooting their star status higher in the sky regardless of its musty smell of Springer. It is no coincidence that as Britney Spears is going through a soon to be messy divorce, all of a sudden Paris and Britney have become best friends. It works out for both of them. Unfortunately it is more negatively effecting Britney than Paris. Britney's parenting skills have always been in question (my favorite was during her Matt Lauer interview when asked about her seating her son on her lap as she drove. Her response was "We're Country!" Matt Lauer had a look on his face like she had just let the smelliest fart. No image consultant could have made her less trailer than that).

Now it seems her parenting is being questioned by one of the most contraversial mothers out there. Since Anna Nicole Smith wasn't available for a comment, Courtney Love let her opinions flow. She recently told Extra! "Say what you will about me, and I'm not passing judgment, but when I had my daughter, I stayed home with her almost every night for the first year of her life."

Now, no one believes that a woman should abstain from an occasional night out just because she is a parent. There are plenty of mothers out there that go out and have a good time, and are also wonderful to their children. Most though, do not have detailed, explicit pictures of their girlie splattered all over the world wide web. Jay Leno joked that her gynocologist said she passed her exam, and that was from just looking at her picture! I didn't think it was that bad. Until I saw it. Why would you ever go out without your panties, girl? Why? Especially with a short skirt. Apparently Britney tried to pull a Paris and Paris told her it was a good idea. And Britney didn't think twice about taking advice from Paris. If Paris told me to go out without panties, I'd tell her "Thanks for the advice, but my crotch is for members only, thank you."

In her own defense She had this to say. "It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends," the singer said. "It's also been two years since I've even celebrated my birthday. Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new-found freedom a little too far." Ya think so? Maybe it was time for Britney's mama to step in and say, "Ok girl, its time for you to tighten your belt, put your underwear back on, and lose your new BFF. She's ruining your image." But then who am I to say? Britney Spears has become the most searched celebrity in her second year in a row. Maybe all this publicity will help her sell the album she promises will be out next year and be "so amazing". Or maybe, the publicity will be so good for her that people won't notice that since she's been out of the loop, many much better artists have had more cutting edge interesting albums than she could have ever fathomed. Or possibly, just maybe, she'll be the darling of Entertainment Tonight this time next year, bawling her eyes out from her room at the Rehab Center begging people to give her one more chance. Time will tell. If our planet lasts that long.
