During the sentencing both Paris Hilton and her mother were vocal about their opinions on the proceedings in the court as well as to the proceedings that led to Paris being sentenced to 45 days in jail.
Here are the steps that lead up to Paris Hilton going to jail for 45 days. On September 7, 2006 Paris Hilton was charged with necklace driving and DUI. In January of 2007 her license was suspended and she was placed on three years probation after failing agree to any possibilities of avoiding this.
Paris Hilton was instructed to attend alcohol education courses, which she did not do. She also choose to drive twice with a suspended license, both of which led to her being sentence to 45 days in jail.
Paris Hilton faced a maximum jail time of 90 days; she received only 45 days in jail. Paris is scheduled to start her jail time on June 5, 2007. If she does not show up for her scheduled jail date, then she can face up to 90 days in jail.
Paris Hilton will be serving her time in Linwood in a women's prison. It is not known whether she will be given secutriy or a private cell when she starts her jail term on June 5.

i think it was fair for her spending some time in jail and see what it was all about and she will now learn from her mistakes and if it was anyone else they would had to go also so i think it is a fair reason.

I totally agree that Paris should go to jail. She commented on how this punishment wasn't fair. The only reason she's saying this is becuase she's a celebrity and thinks she has a higher power and is above the law. Hate to break it to you Paris, but you're a normal human being like everyone else, and when a normal person breaks the law, they go to jail. Period. End of story.
