Paris Hilton Makes a Hot Move and Starts Her Jail Term Two Days Early
Hilton Makes like She's Hot for Reporting to Jail Early
The all-female facility is actually a pretty tough one as far as woman's facilities go. However, Hilton will be housed in the "special needs" section of the prison that is reserved for, well, special needs prisoners such as celebrity-types, police officers, and any other high profile types that could be singled out because of such status, and face particular danger in the general population of the prison.
Hilton had spent part of her Sunday afternoon at the MTV Movie Awards before pulling a fast one on the public-at-large by surrendering early to start her jail term. She had been scheduled to arrive at the facility in two days, the mandated deadline for showing up to start the jail term.
Donning a black strapless dress on the pink carpet yesterday, she stopped to tell reporters how she felt about the upcoming jail term, in retrospect cluing us in to her 'hot move' to show up early for the term, telling reporters, "I'm ready to face my sentence. Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that's really helpful."
And while most of this time during these proceedings she has shied away from the camera and talking about the sentencing, and seeming quite distraught over the whole reality of the situation for herself as a result of the sentencing, and only making a few sound bytes to the effect that she felt this was unfair and so on, now, that is yesterday she told reporters, "I am trying to be strong right now. Even though this is a really hard time, I have my family, my friends and my fans to support me, and that's really helpful," according to WABC News, New York.
Hilton seems to have seen the light in trying to turn a bad example in herself for young teens up to young adults into a good one, also saying, "I hope that I'm an example to other young people," according to WABC News, New York.
It's of particular interest, however, that Hilton made this statement: "I did have a choice to go to a pay jail, but I declined because I feel like the media portrays me in a way that I'm not and that's why I wanted to go to county, to show that I can do it and I'm going to be treated like everyone else. I'm going to do the time, I'm going to do it the right way."
This would seem to contradict what Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer said in his ruling May 4, on her case, that no alternative jail, electronic monitoring in lieu of spending actual time in the jail, no work-release or furloughs would be granted in her case. Whether she actually had that option is unknown at this time, but neither she nor her attorney or publicist elaborated on that possibility.
According to the report filed by Natalie Finn, Eonline news, Hilton had this to say, in a statement released by Hutton, her attorney: "I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. During the past few weeks I have had a lot of time to think and have come to realize I made some mistakes. This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make. I want to thank my family, friends and fans for their continued support. Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence."
Hilton is serving, if she maintains good behavior, a 45-day reduced to 23-day sentence for violating her probation of driving without a license, which was originally taken away when she pleaded no contest to a reckless-driving charge. This came after being pulled over twice for driving without her license in violation of her probation.

Post a CommentParis probably won't stay in jail that long. Something about that sucks. She got what she deserved, but she will get the benefit of the doubt. She's gonna screw up again. That's for sure. Thanks for the article.
