Paris Hilton was caught by authorities driving without headlights and with a suspended license on Tuesday night. Police seized Hilton's $190,000 blue Bentley Continental GTC and prosecutors intend to ask a judge to revoke her probation for reckless driving.

The hotel heiress and star of the Fox reality series "The Simple Life" was pulled over on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood at 11pm on Tuesday night due to driving without headlights. The cops noticed upon further investigation that Hilton's license had been suspended following her sentencing in January for alcohol-related reckless driving following a September, 2006 arrest.

The 26 year old Hilton was on her way home from shopping for DVDs at the Virgin Megastore in West Hollywood before being pulled over. She was alone with no sign of drinking or drugs according to Sgt. Duane Allen Jr. of the Los Angelo Sheriff's Department.

Apparently Hilton did not realize the car's headlights were not on because she had just left a brightly lit parking structure. Police impounded the Bentley. Police authorities can hold the 12-cylinder, 550-horsepower Bentley for up to 30 days.

Her publicist Elliot Mintz also claims the she was unaware of her probation terms, saying, "I don't believe Paris knew whether or not she was allowed to drive. I don't know if that information had been clearly communicated to her."

The incident comes five weeks after Hilton was sentenced to three years' probation for pleading no contest to the alcohol-related reckless driving charge after her September arrest. She was also ordered to attend alcohol education and had to pay $1,500 in fines. The case was reduced from the original charge of driving under the influence.

According to City Attorney's Office spokesman Frank Mateljan, driving with a suspended license violates the terms of her previous probation.

"Miss Paris Hilton was driving the vehicle. After investigating her license status it was determined that she was driving on a suspended license," said sheriff's spokesman Oscar Butao."Miss Hilton was cited for a suspended license violation and released in the field. Her 2007 blue Bentley Continental GTC was impounded."

If Hilton is found by a court to have violated the terms of her earlier probation she could face a fine or even be jailed for up to 90 days according to a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office.

After the incident and her car being impounded Hilton was picked up by a friend and taken home.
