Paris Hilton's Jail Sentence Angers Inmates, Causes Media Frenzy
Paris Hilton Starts Serving Her Sentence on June 5
Fifteen photographers have already made camp around the main entrances to Century Regional facility located five miles south of Los Angeles hoping to see her arrive. The thirteen year-old concrete building became an all became an all female facility in 2006. It is located in an industrial neighborhood beside a train track and busy freeway.
Paris has until Tuesday to start serving her sentence. On Saturday, the socialite still had not appeared. A Los Angeles law gives potential inmates credit for good behavior that reduce the sentence from 45 days to 23 days. She will reside in the special-needs section where she will be served her meals like the rest and allowed an hour outside the room to shower, talking on the phone, and watching TV. Inmates are not allowed cell phones. Inmates also wear an orange jumpsuit and receive a kit consisting of a toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, shampoo, and writing material provided by the facility.
A photo of the heiress in jail could be worth a fortune but authorities are taking steps to prevent cameras from being smuggled in and no television interviews are allowed. Deputies have been instructed to treat Paris as any other inmate feeling no one should profit from jail time. Hilton will not be in the general population. It was rumored that Paris had chosen a cellmate but it is unclear if she will room with anyone. According to LATimes.com Sheriff Lee Baca said, "She won't get better food, she won't get different lock-up time or different environment. Paying a debt should not be an element of her celebrity."
Hilton was arrested on September 7, 2006 on charges of DUI and pleaded no contest. She received probation, a $1500 fine, and alcohol education. On January 15, Paris was stopped again for driving without headlights and driving on a suspended license and signed a document stating for her not to drive.
As if that is not enough for a socialite to endure, Warner Brother has officially dropped the heiress due to disappointing record sales of the debut album "Paris" which only sold 77,000 copies. The company allegedly invested $250,000 for the single " Stars are Blind" It reached number 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and another single, "Nothing In this World" reached number 89. Inside sources said Paris failed to show for interviews and became unreliable. It must be tough being a hotel heiress and reality TV star.
Jail will be her own reality check.

Post a CommentI believe jail helped her. Hope will do the same for Linsay Lohan.

The special needs section is for high-profile people
I agree, she better just shut up, do her time like anyone else, and not recieve any special treatment.
She just needs to shut up and deal with it. I think it is so unfair that just because she has money she is getting treated like a queen instead of a soon to be jail bird :-)
