Park Slope residents should be on the look out for head lice. According to New York Public Radio's WNYC, Park Slope resident Jim Demarco's four year old daughter brought lice home and her teacher had suffered from the school's recent outbreak.

Dalya Harel, the self-titled "Lice Buster," goes to various Brooklyn schools and inspects children for lice. She says that this time of the year is lice season. Kids have just returned to school and are constantly in contact with one another.

In addition, New York City Department of Education has a "no head lice" policy and does not have scheduled screenings. Park Slope students who do get lice have to be examined by a nurse after two weeks of infection before being allowed to go back to school.
