Colonel Parker Schenecker was serving in Qatar when his wife Julie Schenecker shot and killed their two children with a gun.
Julie, 50, shot Beau, 13 and Calyx, 16 on January 27 and later told police that she did so because her teens were 'mouthy'. No matter the reason, it's obvious that Julie is a very mentally ill person who clearly went off the deep end.

Her husband who is a U.S. Army colonel finally sat down and spoke with Julie on Friday, February 18 and a statement was released by Parker describing that meeting.
"Today I met with my wife Julie for the first time since I returned from my duty overseas. The meeting was both emotional and productive. We discussed numerous topics but focused mostly on how so many people continue to honor and remember the lives of Calyx and Beau."
Additionally Parker said, "I felt it was important and proper to inform her in person about my need to focus on the future, and my intention to file for divorce. Clearly the events of Jan. 27 have taken Julie and me on different paths."
Currently Julie whose public defender entered a 'not guilty' plea at a February 16 hearing, is being held without bail. A trial date has not yet been set.
And in the meantime, another father is finally facing his sordid past in which he sexually abused his three daughters.
Keith Scott Brown, 55, pled guilty last Thursday, February 17 in a Provo Utah courtroom to sodomy on a child under 14 as well as two charges of sexual abuse of a child.

The charges against Brown, father of the extremely talented The 5 Browns, are all felonies and while the prosecutor denies that Brown came forward on his own accord, Brown's defender said his client went to the Mormon church to 'confess' his transgressions.
If he is convicted Brown could face anywhere from 10 years to life in prison for the sodomy charge, and 1 to 15 years for each second degree offense of sexual abuse. He would serve concurrent sentences.
